Almost 90% of firms, in a survey said they were using coaching as part of their learning and development, and considered it crucial to their recession strategy, according to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
In another survey carried out by the Institute of Directors (IoD), over 900 directors identified the principal benefits of investing in training during the downturn as follows:
- improved staff morale (76%)
- improved productivity and/or profitability (74%)
- improved customer satisfaction (69%)
- improved staff retention (62%).
